Khristopher Scott appointed as Senior Men’s Head Coach

The first participation at an international tournament, by the Luxembourg Senior Men’s National Team, will be in July 2018 in Israel at the World Games. As part of the preparations, the Luxembourg Lacrosse Federation have now appointed Khristopher Scott as Head Coach. Khristopher lives in Vernon, British Columbia in Canada and offers a wide range of relevant experience and qualifications. He has previous experience as a Junior Assistant Coach for the German national team at the European Championships in 2004, two German club teams and a range of box Lacrosse and field Lacrosse teams within Canada. Khristopher also brings relevant professional experience in project management and marketing, making him the right fit for the role.

Coach Scott described the role as ‘An exciting opportunity to grow the game we all love. I’m very honoured to be given the chance to helm our National Men’s team as they compete in their first World Championship. Any chance that you can help grow the game at a local and national level is exciting and I’m looking forward to working this great group from Luxembourg.’

The Luxembourg Lacrosse Federation (LLF) is in the process of bringing on additional coaching appointments with Coach Scott and the support staff, all of which volunteer their time to the team. The General Manager of the team, Henning Schmidt, described the recruitment process as follows: ‘We knew we wanted a coach who can shape the team and lay the foundation for Luxembourg to compete effectively in years to come. We are happy with this first step and know that we have a lot of work ahead of us. It’s very exciting times for Luxembourg Lacrosse.’

When asked what the makeup of the team would look like, or who should look to join, Coach Scott responded ‘If you commit to the team, we’re committing ourselves to you. We want players that want to learn and love the game and our coaching team wants to make that experience as positive and fun as possible, to help grow this game that we love. All that starts with your commitment to be part of something very special, the first games at a World Championship.’

Asked about next steps, Coach Scott confirmed that he wanted to hear from all eligible players interested in taking part. Requirements for participation include:

– Eligibility (Luxembourgian passport, residence in Luxembourg and/or proven close link to Luxembourg Lacrosse)
– Availability for the tournament in Israel from 7/8 July 2018 through to 22 July 2018 and the preparation week in Luxembourg from 30 June to 7/8 July
– Contribution to team fund raising
– Ability to self-fund participation

Khristopher Scott sélectionné comme Senior Men’s Head Coach

L’équipe luxembourgeoise de Lacrosse participera à son premier tournoi international lors de la coupe du monde de la FIL en juillet 2018 en Israël.

La fédération luxembourgeoise de Lacrosse a pour cette occasion pu convaincre Khristopher Scott à être l’entraineur en chef de l’équipe nationale. Il vit à Vernon, British Columbia/Kanada et a de l’expérience et une qualification en tant que entraineur en chef : il était « Junior Assistant Coach » de l’équipe nationale allemande en 2004, dirigeait deux clubs allemands, et une multitude de clubs canadiens de Lacrosse et Box Lacrosse. Khristopher apporte au-delàs de l’experience en gestion de projets et marketing.

L’entraineur Scott décrit sa fonction comme „une opportunité excitante pour contribuer à la croissance du sport que nous aimons tous. Je me sens honoré d’avoir cette chance de préparer l’équipe luxembourgeoise à sa première coupe du monde. Chaque occasion pour supporter le développement du Lacrosse sur le plan local et national est très passionnant et je me réjouis déjà à travailler ensemble avec une équipe fantastique au Luxembourg. »

La fédération luxembourgeoise de Lacrosse (LLF) est en train de recruter d’autres entraineurs et membres d’équipe de support, qui participent tous en tant que volontaires.
Le manager de l’équipe, Henning Schmidt, a décrit le recrutement de l’entraineur Scott comme suit : « Nous avions cherché un entraineur, qui peut former une équipe et les bases pour des participations à des tournois dans le futur. Nous sommes très contents avec cette première étape et regardons vers l’avant maintenant. C’est une période très prenante pour le lacrosse au Luxembourg»

À la question comment l’équipe nationale sera composée, l’entraineur Scott répond: : « Chacun qui veut soutenir l’équipe en tant que joueur aura notre support complet. Nous cherchions des joueurs qui veulent apprendre, qui adorent le Lacrosse ; nos entraineurs essayerons de rendre cette expérience le plus positif possible. Cela commence avec la volonté à contribuer à quelque chose d’unique, la première participation à la coupe du monde.»

Pour les prochaines étapes l’entraineur Scott souhaite que tous les joueurs intéressés le contactent. Pour être éligible à participer dans l’équipe nationale, les critères suivants doivent être satisfaits :

– Nationalité luxembourgeoise ou résident luxembourgeois ou une preuve d’un « lien particulier » au sport de Lacrosse au Luxembourg
– Disponibilité pour voyager au tournois en Israël du 7/8 juillet 2018 au 22 juillet 2018, et pour la semaine de préparation au Luxembourg du 30 juin au 7/8 juillet.
– Participation à la collecte de fonds
– Soutenir ses propres frais de participation

Khristopher Scott ernannt als Senior Men’s Head Coach

Die erste Teilnahme an einem internationalen Turnier für die Luxemburger Lacrosse Herren Nationalmannschaft wird im Juli 2018 in Israel bei der FIL Weltmeisterschaft sein. Die Luxemburger Lacrosse Förderation hat nun einen Cheftrainer gefunden, Khristopher Scott. Er lebt in Vernon, British Columbia/Kanada und hat weitreichende Erfahrung und Qualifikationen als Cheftrainer: er war Junior Assistant Coach der deutschen Nationalmannschaft in 2004, fuehrte zwei deutsche Vereine sowie eine Anzahl kanadischer Box und Feld Lacrosse Teams in Kanada. Khristopher bringt zudem relevante Erfahrung im Projekt Management und Marketing mit.

Coach Scott beschreibt die neue Aufgabe als ‘ Eine aufregende Gelegenheit zum Wachstum des Sports, den wir alle lieben, beizutragen. Ich fühle mich geehrt, diese Chance erhalten zu haben und unsere Nationalmannschaft in ihre erste WM zu führen. Jede Gelegenheit, Lacrosse auf lokalem und nationalen Niveau zu entwickeln ist sehr spannend und ich freue mich darauf, mit dieser großartigen Truppe in Luxembourg zusammen zu arbeiten.

Die Luxembourg Lacrosse Federation (LLF) ist dabei, weitere Trainer und Stabsmitglieder zu ernennen, die alle als ehrenamtliche Helfer zum Erfolg des Teams beitragen werden.
Der General Manager der Mannschaft, Henning Schmidt, beschrieb die Rekrutierung von Coach Scott wie folgt: ‘ Wir wollten einen Trainer, der eine Mannschaft formen kann und die Basis für erfolgreiche Turnierteilnahmen in Zukunft legen kann. Wir sind sehr glücklich mit diesem ersten Schritt und schauen jetzt nach vorne, es liegt noch viel Arbeit vor uns. Es sind sehr spannende Zeiten für Luxembourg Lacrosse.’

Auf die Frage, wie sich das Team zusammensetzen wird, antwortete Coach Scott: ‘Jeder, der als Spieler dieser Mannschaft beitragen will, wird von uns die volle Unterstützung bekommen. Wir wollen Spieler, die lernen wollen, die Lacrosse lieben; unser Trainerstab wird die gesamte Erfahrung so positiv wie möglich gestalten. Es fängt an mit dem Willen, beizutragen zu etwas ganz besonderem, den allerersten Spielen bei der Weltmeisterschaft.
Mit Bezug auf die nächsten Schritte bestätigte Coach Scott, dass er von allen interessierten Spielern hören will. Teilnahmeberechtigt sind alle Spieler, die die folgenden Kriterien erfüllen:

– Luxembourgische Staatsbuergerschaft oder Einwohner des Landes Luxembourg oder Nachweis einer ‘besonderer Verbindung’ zum Lacrosse-Sport in Luxembourg
– Verfügbar zur Reise zum Turnier in Israel vom 7/8 Juli 2018 bis zum 22 Juli 2018 und für die Vorbereitungswoche in Luxembourg vom 30 June bis zum 7/8 Juli
– Beitrag zum fund raising
– Die Kosten der Teilnahme werden von den Spielern selber getragen
